Sea Surface Reflection and Power Attenuation Analysis of Radio Wave in UHF Satellite Communications

چکیده
Ultra High Frequency (UHF) band is increasingly widely used in military maritime satellite communications due to its good communication performance. Electromagnetic wave emitted by satellite is reflected when reaching the sea surface, and multipath fading is very serious which causes interference on the received signal, especially when satellite elevation angle is low. In this paper, the UHF band multipath effects of sea surface were studied following the general principles of modeling in multipath effects. The numerical simulation was made based on Rayleigh criterion and the judgment basis was obtained which determines whether the specula reflected component or diffuse reflected component dominates in the reflected wave, and then the reflection coefficient of sea surface in different polarization modes were calculated. Finally, the power attenuation of reflected wave relative to direct wave for different wind speeds were simulated and analyzed. Numerical simulation results show that the greater the wind speed is, the greater the power attenuation of reflected wave will become and the more serious multipath fading will be. In addition, diffuse reflection attenuation is more serious than specular reflection.

Effect of Nonlinear Phase Variation in Optical Millimetre Wave Radio over Fibre Systems
In this paper, we propose an optical millimetre wave radio-over-fibre (mm-wave RoF) system that uses a dual drive Mach Zehnder modulator (DD-MZM), which is biased at the maximum transmission biasing point, to generate an optical double sideband-suppressed carrier. The input to the DD-MZM are binary phase shift keying (BPSK), quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK), 8-phase shift keying (8-PSK) and...

At the ultra-high frequencies (UHF) common to portable radios, the mine tunnel acts as a dielectric waveguide, directing and absorbing energy as a radio signal propagates. Understanding radio propagation behavior in a dielectric waveguide is critical for designing reliable, optimized communication systems in an underground mine. One of the major parameters used to predict the power attenuation ...
متن کاملSensitivity Analysis of Brown Model Waveform in Radar Altimetry
In satellite altimetry (radar altimetry), the altimeter emits a pulse, with known power, to the earth surface and receives it back continuously to determine of the sea surface height. The time series of the mean returned power is recorded individually at satellite as the so-called waveform. Analytical model for the waveform is first introduced by Brown, which consists of six parameters: signif...
